The University of Algarve ( UAlg ) is a young state university, located in the southern part of Portugal, one of the most touristic regions of Portugal.The University has witnessed a significant growth in terms of student population, modern facilities and the quality and diversity of programmes on offer.
The scientific contribution of UAlg is developed around four main areas: Sea; Health, Food and Welfare; Arts and Heritage and Tourism. Culture and Creative Industries are also a subject. UAlg is also focused on Knowledge and Technology Transfer, assumed by CRIA, Division of Entrepreneurship and Technology Transfer. It aims to promote relations between University and Industries, to increase the technology and knowledge transfer and to support the establishment of new SMEs. CRIA works in close collaboration with public and private entities allowing the integration of various competences in the implementation of the project. CRIA has a large experience in managing EU transnational cooperation projects,including in EU projects in the sector of CCI.

- Analysis of the state of the art of the innovation system for the cultural creative sector; Analysis of case studies/frontrunners; Capacity building of innovation key actors for the cultural creative industries
